About Kerala Calendar

Kerala Calendar is a reference site for the Malayalam calendar. It shows each day's Kollavarsham date, naal, tithi and timings, along with Kerala's holidays and festival dates. It is written in English, with Malayalam terms alongside, for Malayalis in Kerala and around the world and for anyone who works with Kerala dates.

Why we built it

Most calendar sites show the English date and a list of national holidays. The questions Kerala families actually ask need more than that: which day Onam falls on this year, when Karkidakam starts, what today's star is, or when Rahu Kalam ends in Kozhikode. We wanted one clear, fast place that answers those questions and shows how each answer was reached.

How the dates are produced

Dates are calculated from astronomical positions using Kerala conventions, then checked against the Kerala Gazette and devaswom announcements. The full method is on how we calculate.

Our network

Kerala Calendar is part of a small group of regional calendar sites, including Tomorrow Calendar, Assam Calendar, Punjabi Calendar, Urdu Calendar.

Independence

We are not affiliated with the Government of Kerala, the Travancore, Cochin, Malabar or Guruvayur devaswoms, or any temple or religious body. Official notices always take precedence over this site.
